BREAKING: Peter Dutton has taken the witness stand to explain why he is suing a refugee activist over a single deleted tweet.

The Defence Minister is suing refugee activist Shane Bazzi for defamation over the since-deleted tweet, posted on February 25, stating “Peter Dutton is a rape apologist”.

He said he was “deeply offended” by the tweet and, despite having never sued anybody for defamation before, this one post spurred him into action. The former Queensland police officer told the court he took the issue of sexual violence against women and children “very seriously” and it had been a focus during his time as home affairs minister.

If people are no longer allowed to label conservatives as rape apologists, racists, homophobes, xenophobes, transphobes, misogynists, white supremacists and bigots in general Twitter traffic will drop 50%!

Dutton is spot on with this one.

A man who doesn't defend his honour doesn't have any.
