Also on Wednesday, Mark Connell, a lawyer for Mark Leffingwell, who faces riot-related felony charges, told US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson that defense and prosecution lawyers"need to iron out some details" of a possible plea bargain agreement for Leffingwell. Leffingwell, of Seattle, was one of the first people arrested on riot-related charges. In a statement, an unnamed US Capitol police officer said Leffingwell"punched me repeatedly with a closed fist. I was struck in the helmet that I was wearing and in the chest."
