Witnesses say R. Kelly directed them to write false and damaging letters

The letters, witnesses say, ranged from apologies to letters that made false claims that could be embarrassing if released, according to testimony during Kelly's federal trial that began on August 18 in Brooklyn for racketeering and sex trafficking charges.Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
