Now they face the urgent challenge of governing a war-ravaged country that is heavily reliant on international aid. The protest in Kabul was the second women’s protest in as many days, with the other held in the western city of Herat. A Taliban fighter ventured into the crowd at one point but witnesses said he was angry at bystanders who had stopped to watch the demonstration and not the protesters themselves. The Taliban have said women will be able to continue their education and work outside the home – rights denied to women when the militants were last in power. But the Taliban have also vowed to impose Sharia, or Islamic law, without providing specifics.

Civil servants have not been paid for months, ATMs have been shut down and banks are limiting withdrawals to 200 dollars per week, causing large crowds to form outside them.

Brave fearless women! X

Texan women will be doing this soon. They are beginning to be reigned in by the political/pretend religion (But just dictatorial) regime there also.

OrIa_Smith Brave brave ladies. Fair play to them but I don’t think that it’s going to end very well for them.

There brave

They must have nothing better to do, protests are the new social scene

💗💖

If only Catherine Zappone could help them now, what have we done? 🙄

The good old Islamic culture, woman and children last 🙄

I guess it's not that bad there if these women are able to get away with holding multiple protests.

May God help them, led down a road by feminism & then abandoned. Why are they there alone demonstrating, why are mná na hEireann not standing alongside them Especially so that we hold the Chairmanship of the UN security council & our most senior civil servant is a woman.

They look oppressed
