saying there were “shocking failings" and"blatant hypocrisy" in the way religious groups handled abuse allegations. Leaders of 38 groups – from Christian and Islamic sects to Orthodox Judaism – discouraged reporting abuse to protect their reputations.

cathynewman True but quite the understatement to be fair. Any individual behaving in the same manner would have been treated very differently. We need change and we need it now please.

cathynewman Sexual abuse is known to be rampant within the home...kind of negates the gravity of institutional abuse hmm?

cathynewman If sexual abuse continues, then religious ministers are acting hypocritically. That is an abomination to the God of the Bible if it is from Him that they preach and God will not hold the guilty as innocent.
