A Chinese court has sentenced Canadian businessman Michael Spavor to 11 years in prison for espionage

Spavor, a Beijing-based businessman who regularly traveled to North Korea, was sentenced after being found guilty of spying and illegally providing state secrets to foreign countries, the Dandong Intermediate People's Court said in a statement Wednesday. The court said Spavor would also be deported, without specifying whether it was before or after he served his prison sentence.

Spavor was detained in December 2018 alongside Canadian Michael Kovrig on espionage charges. This is the start of a war.

I think Canada should work to transition as much trade to alternate countries as possible. They should ban all business with Huawei

🖕🏻China , boycott everything made in China

SanctionPakistan

Funny but I don't think China knows what Espionage is they just like putting people in jail and say that it's Espionage I don't think they even know the term what it means

The comments here are very interesting, they think violating laws in China is reasonable.

Besides Espionage and kidnap, they also send a guy to smuggled 222 kg meth to China. All countries should have 0 tolerance to these crimes.

congratulations
