President Joe Biden has said American troops will be out of the country by Aug. 31, bringing America's longest war to a close ahead of his initial Sept. 11 deadline. The Pentagon has said the U.S. withdraw is more than 90% complete. The Biden administration has come under intense pressure from lawmakers and human rights groups to help those Afghans who worked for the U.S. during the war.
