Former police chief Panfilo Lacson says the Duterte administration focused too much on law enforcement, and not enough on prevention.

There will be no knocking of doors in the envisioned anti-drug campaign of 2022 hopefuls Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III.

The practice was born in Davao City, when President Duterte was then the city's mayor and his local police chief was Ronald dela Rosa, who has since become a national police chief and then a colleague of Sotto and Lacson at the Senate. This is the same analysis that experts have been saying from the beginning of Duterte's anti-drug campaign, but has largely been ignored.

Lacson said Sotto will be in charge of the drug problem if ever they get to be elected. To recall, Sotto served as Dangerous Drugs Board chairman from 2008 to 2009.
