The Jigawa State Local Government Council Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Auyo has dismissed a petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party challenging the victory of All Progressives Congress in Auyo Local Government.
The PDP had earlier approached the tribunal seeking for the nullification of APC as winner of the council election in three local governments including Auyo, Birnin Kudu and Malam-Madori local governments. DAILY POST reported that the local government election tribunal sitting in Dutse had also struck out a PDP petition in Birnin Kudu Local Government.
Delivering the verdict on Friday, Justice Sadam Habib said that the petition lacked merit therefore dismissed the case.Related Topics:
