LIDL has been banned from selling a copycat gin in the UK after a legal battle with Hendrick’s.
The company argues that the supermarket’s gin bottle looked like the ‘apothecary-style bottle’ used by Hendrick’s. They also pointed to comments made on social media in which people remarked on the similarities between the two products. A judge rejected Lidl’s appeal earlier this week - and went further to say they couldn’t sell the look-a-like bottle anywhere else in the UK.
How many other supermarket brand products are almost the same as other brand names, very similar package design including colour. If your eyesight wasn't that good you'd think you'd be buying a brand name.
