From next week, wearing face coverings in certain public places will no longer be a legal requirement
Sage member Professor Graham Medley said he would still wear a face covering when the Government ends the legal requirement next week – but questioned how much good it would do if 30% of the public don’t do the same. The chairman of the Sage modelling subgroup Spi-M told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: ‘I personally will wear a mask to protect other people.
‘So I think that, without the mandation, then we end up with a situation where even if the majority of people, let’s say 70% of people wear a mask, will that actually do any good because of the 30% who don’t? I think that is something which still needs to be determined and discussed.’
I'm not wearing my mask unless it stays law
Masks don’t work, hello? Anybody home? The RCT trials have been done. Sage are lying psychologists, not scientists
It might work like a fashion and become an expectation of self and others. There will always be some who refuse but I’m willing to keep wearing a mask as a sign of my responsibility towards others. I don’t understand whether it protects the wearer or others but I’ll keep wearing.
