Traditional rulers in Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State have appealed to the state government to give legislative backing to the ban on open grazing for effectively implementation.

This was part of a six-point communiqué issued by the Obi of Owa and Chairman, Delta North Traditional Rulers Forum, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 at the end of their meeting at Owa Oyibu in Ika North East Council.

Efeizomor, who presented the communiqué, said the stability and security of Delta State and Delta North in particular, was paramount hence the need for all stakeholders to synergise in the quest to promote peace in the area and entire state.

They condemned Fulani jihadists’ purported threat to attack Asaba and Agbor and charged security agencies to remain vigilant at all times. The monarchs also appealed to traditional rulers in other parts of the state to be vigilant and ensure that they were always in their domains to check possible security threats, and passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his development strides in the state.

Vice Chairman of the forum and Obi of Ubulu-Unor, Henry Kikachukwu and Obi of Umunede, Agadagidi Ezeagwu Ezewenali 1, among others, attended the meeting.
