Peacock’s principal priority remains generating paid subs. While Peacock counts more than 40 million sign-ups, Comcast hasn’t disclosed its number of paid subscribers, which theIf Comcast wants to remain open to potential streaming partnerships with other new entrants or even an outright merger for NBCUniversal, as was implied in the report, then it doesn’t make sense to tie up the Universal slate in another years-long Pay 1 deal.

Likewise, HBO Max is on the verge of losing access to content from Warner Bros.
