The focus on gender and sexuality freedoms in Europe comes after the Hungarian parliament passed a law which bans LGBTQ references in school educational materials. Without directly mentioning Hungary, today’s letter signed by the heads of state ahead of an EU summit deplored the “threats against fundamental rights, and in particular the principle of non-discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation”.
In addition to that, every avenue has to be explored in terms of the legal framework in Europe to pursue this issue. Moral pressure does matter but also asserting European values matters on an issue so fundamental as this. He added that there are “fundamental rights” around diversity that are celebrated in Ireland and that this is important that these are “asserted and articulated strongly and that Hungry hears that”.
Uefa defended its decision, saying that the request from Munich mayor Dieter Reiter was rejected because it was politically motivated.“That’s why I agree with Deputy Griffin that UEFA showed cowardice on this issue in my view. UEFA have done great work in terms of trying to stamp out racism in football, as indeed of many other sporting organisations and this natural extension of that,” he said.
How about the 3 Stooges look after the rights of people at home first. 3 leaders coming out with different statements about our country opening back up
Using sport to bring political pressure to bear on any nation is an abuse of sport.
What about the special court sittings, you know, the ones without juries that have politically appointed judges sitting on
finegael was in the European People's Party with the Hungarian regime until Fidesz left of their own accord in March
I actually agree with UEFA about the stadium. But every road leading to the stadium and outside the stadium itself should have been covered in flags with the colors.Iove all these hate tweets because it reminds me that the lgbtq still need people to support them from homophobes
Down with that sort of thing quipped Martin when asked....
So Hungarians have no right to decide to shield their children away from this perversion?
It's more important to protect the traditional family unit than indulging people who will always find something to complain about.
