Brolly and his solicitors have both been contacted by The Journal for comment. A spokesperson for RTÉ said that the broadcaster “does not comment on legal matters”. Last year, he took up a role as part of eir Sport’s Allianz Football League coverage, after his contract was not renewed by RTÉ.
Maybe Marty Morrissey should sue, or Séan Cavanagh or any of the other people Brolly has insulted or cut the legs off over the years. If you're going to give it you should be able to take it. Doubt he'll win, how was he defamed?, is cutting him off mid-rant defamation? 1/

This ain’t about the money. Joe has a bee In his bonnet with RTE. He spoke about facts. Rte didn’t like it and cut him off. Bullshit about DUP not being there to defend themselves. Go on Brolly. Give em loads lad. They deserve to be questioned about their behaviour in court.

Claire cut him off because there wasn’t someone to defend what he was saying about the DUP - I mean it sounds like they were going to get sued either way. Good to know we can’t have a discussion on our national broadcaster without some opportunist using it to line their pockets
