The SA Post Office, PostNet and SA Express Parcel Association are set to square off in court later this year regarding the delivery of packages weighing 1kg and less. pretorianews

Pretoria - The SA Post Office, PostNet and SA Express Parcel Association are set to square off in court later this year regarding the delivery of packages weighing 1kg and less.

This was pending the legal wrangle between the parties due to be heard by the high court in Pretoria, on a date still to be announced. Icasa acted on a recommendation by the Complaints and Compliance Committee following a grievance lodged by the Post Office about PostNet also offering reserved postal services to the public.PostNet said in court papers issued during its earlier urgent application, that the Post Office had for long struggled to meet market demands, thus private entities such as PostNet stepped in.

PostNet said it could not understand that it had for many years provided these services without problems.

pretorianews Why can’t they subcontract and give that to those courier companies.

pretorianews Utter BS we have the freedom to chose which providers we want to use. Not one package I sent with the post office has arrived without going missing. If I want to use a courier or Postnet its my choice as a consumer. If I have to pay more for over 1kg delivery so be it.

pretorianews And I guess civil society has no say in the matter as to whom they wish to utilise to ensure their valuable deliveries reach its destination. SAPO workers probably disgruntled that they being cheated of the chance to get free stuff.
