The former Rabbitohs player has been placed on a good behaviour bond for nine months and has been asked to complete a traffic offenders program. Mr Wrench said the offences had occurred following Burgess's "wrongful conviction" over the alleged intimidation of his ex-father-in-law, Mitch Hook.

This continual war-on-drugs is an utter failure. When are they going to stop punative action on people using drugs, for whatever reason. In an enlightened country, its got to stop.

I'm 77 and I believe I would have been given a costodyal sentence for the same charges. Luckily I don't drink, take drugs, do register my car and have a legal licence. Boring but sensible.

Drugs were issued routinely in Vietnam war to increase awareness and speed reaction times; they are not necessarily detrimental to driving ability. I do not support drugs. We have to remove the profit motive from their promotion.
