Daunte Wright's loved ones and supporters shared prayers, spiritual hymns and emotional remarks at his funeral in Minneapolis today.

"Daunte Wright's life mattered," attorney Ben Crump said, directing guests to repeat the phrase multiple times during the service."We have to fight for our children... because our children need to know how much we believe in them, how much we believe in their future. Because they do have a right to life and liberty and their American dream, and that is the plea for justice.

She described him as a"jokester" who was"loved by so many." She said that her son had a smile"worth a million dollars" that lit up when he walked into a room. Police officers in uniform were asked to not attend the funeral on Thursday, CBS Minnesota reporter Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield said. Sharpton called for police reform and changes to federal legislation, while referencing the Bible and the long history of racism in America. He referred to Wright as the"Prince of Brooklyn Center" who is on his way to rest.

Governor Walz held a moment of silence for Wright at 12 p.m. local time, and also expressed his condolences for the Wright family at the funeral.

Daunte Wright Funeral Is Thursday in MinneapolisThe funeral of the 20-year-old Black man killed by police will be attended by George Floyd’s family, members of whom have been in Minneapolis for the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin. i wonder why they never complete the sentence. the black man killed by police for breaking the law and resisting arrest. it's not like the cops just showed up and shot him. it is more race baiting by the media. do the blacks really wonder why they are seen the way they are Was this the one who choked a woman & stole her $850? I can't keep track. Based on the media and the left you wouldn't think a white person ever got killed by police. More whites killed by police than Hispanics and blacks combined.

Hundreds gather for Minneapolis funeral of Daunte WrightMINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Daunte Wright, the young Black man shot by police during a traffic stop in suburban Minneapolis, was to be remembered Thursday at a funeral just two days after a former police officer was convicted in the death of George Floyd and amid a national reckoning on racism and policing. Hundreds of mourners wearing COVID-19 masks packed into Shiloh Temple International Ministries to remember Wright, a 20-year-old father of one who was shot by a police officer on April 11 in the small city of Brooklyn Center. The Rev. Al Sharpton, the civil rights leader, was to deliver the eulogy, and told The Associated Press that he would first pay tribute to Wright, “a young man just at the beginning of life, full of life.” AL is a race pimp who seeks to divide. No racist I’m the eyes of God The reason we can’t move in from the hate for police because the media won’t allow it , they will continue to look for conflicts to push an agenda These black shootings are not about race, but about class. Please woke up.
