The businessman, Chung Chee Yang, was slapped with five charges and was charged under Section 298 of the Penal Code for intentionally wounding the religious feelings of a person.Under the first charge, Chung had allegedly uttered to his bodyguards Mohd Azminizam Zulkepli, 44, and Ahmad Shamsuri Zailani, 27, words that were offensive to their religious beliefs.For the second charge, Chung is accused of causing injury to Mohd Azminizam.
He was also charged under Section 506 for criminal intimidation and twice under Section 109 for abetting his personal assistant Choo Hin Voon in causing injury to Mohd Azminizam and Ahmad Shamsuri.If found guilty, he is liable to a jail term of up to seven years, a fine, or both. He faces up to ten years' imprisonment, a fine, or caning, or either two of the penalties under Section 324 of the Penal code if found guilty for the charges under Section 109.
