Sky News host Paul Murray says the judge of the Derek Chauvin trial upheld “clarity” in an “insane situation” – after Judge Peter Cahill rebuked elected government officials for not respecting the “rule of law”.

The remarks come as footage captured Democrat MP Maxine Waters in Minnesota urging protestors to “stay on the street” and get “more confrontational”.

“The judge called this out saying, hang on, you’re part of the system, you’re supposed to be the adult in the room who knows the only place where justice can be handed out in our country is in the court of which I am presiding – how’s this for clarity in an insane situation," he said. Judge Cahill said he wished “elected officials” would “stop talking” about the case in a “manner that is disrespectful to the rule of law”.
