Prosecutor: 'Shortcomings' in state law allowed Indianapolis FedEx shooter to legally purchase weapons used in attack

An Indiana prosecutor says"shortcomings" in the state's"red flag" law allowed the 19-year-old man who killed eight people at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis last week to legally purchase two assault rifles months after being investigated by the FBI due to his potential for violence.

CNN previously reported that in March 2020, Brandon Hole's mother told law enforcement he might attempt"suicide by cop," according to the FBI. Hole was placed on an immediate detention mental health temporary hold, the FBI has said.
