Former police officer Derek Chauvin’s defence team has launched its case - which is expected to wrap up by the end of the week - after the prosecution rested theirs.

Prosecutors called almost 40 witnesses to the stand and argued George Floyd died of insufficient oxygen caused by Mr Chauvin

kneeling on his neck. Chauvin’s defence began their case by questioning a use of force expert who said Chauvin’s actions had not been fatal.
