IPOH: The High Court will decide if two main witnesses in the rape case involving former state executive council member Paul Yong can testify is when testimony is given without the presence of the public or others unrelated to the case.
Judge Datuk Abdul Wahab Mohamed said the decision would only be made after the defence completes its submission. "The case can continue with the other witnesses first and any identification involving the two witnesses can be reserved at the moment," he said on Tuesday . Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Jamil Aripin had earlier submitted the application, stating that the two main witnesses should testify under Section 265 of the Criminal Procedure Code.in camera"They do not wish for their identities to be disclosed. The accused and his lawyers will be able to hear their voices, but will not be able to see them when they testify.Counsel Datuk Rajpal Singh said he was surprised by the prosecution's sudden submission.
