The Georgia elections law has prompted lawsuits from civil rights groups, a sharp denunciation from President Joe Biden, and calls for businesses to take action against the state. Here is an explanation of some of the changes made by the new law.

Washington The new Georgia elections law signed by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp last week has prompted lawsuits from civil rights groups, a sharp denunciation from President Joe Biden, and calls for businesses to take action against the state.

Republican proponents of the law say the critics who accuse them of"voter suppression" are mischaracterizing both their intentions and key provisions of the law. They claim the law not only makes Georgia's elections more secure but that it expands access to voting. That's highly misleading at best. As critics have correctly said, the law imposes significant new obstacles to voting.

VoterID

This law is far from voter suppression.

I put GA on my list of states I won’t visit again any time soon

When you need an ID to get food stamps and welfare, how is asking for an ID to vote, voter suppression?

GOD BLESS TUCKER, BRIT HUME, AND FOX NEWS, FOR BRINGING TRUTH!! cnn knows nothing of

They made provisions for more voting employees and equipment that's good... I was standing in line for so long I didn't mind though it was cool 😎 everybody was chill just waiting to vote 🗳 I seen a few homies said hello to some neighbors... It was nice 👍🏿

all anyone has to do is read. it's just that simple and that basic. the new law expands voter access and restricts activists from committing voter fraud. just read.

Why do these dropboxs have hours if they don't require people to be operated? That's the whole purpose of a dropbox 🤔

Christianity

'nonfeasance, malfeasance, or gross negligence' oooh like you mean knowing Kanye West is running but refusing to put him on the ballot... Riiiiiight... Prohibition of Bias

I truly don't get why having an ID is now voter suppression.

I intentionally passed by Georgia as I was sailing down the eastern coast this year. I will not spend a dime in that state ever if they keep doing what they have done to voter rights.

My local liquor stores are racist and oppressive can you believe they asked me to show an ID! Also a few years ago during black Friday i had to wait in a long line some ppl even slept on the sidewalk the night before just to get in! Oppression is all around us!
