Cashier who took George Floyd's counterfeit $20 bill says he felt 'disbelief and guilt' when Floyd was taken away in an ambulance

Late Wednesday morning, Lead prosecutor Matthew Frank began questioning Christopher Belfrey, 45, who has lived in South Minneapolis for three years.

Martin told his manager his suspicions, and the manager told him to leave the store and ask Floyd to return and pay. In his testimony, Martin said Floyd seemed like he was awake, countering defense claims that Floyd was taking a nap. Floyd and the two passengers in the car refused to come back in, so Martin told his manager that he would pay the $20. The manager sent Martin and another employee back out again to confront Floyd.

Martin testified that he experienced emotions of"disbelief and guilt" after Floyd was taken away in an ambulance. "If had just not taken the bill, this could have been avoided," he said.During cross-examination by Nelson, Martin said he felt that the man who had been with Floyd knew the $20 bill was counterfeit, but he was uncertain about Floyd's knowledge.

"I was concerned to see a handcuffed man who was not moving with officers with their whole body weight on his back and a crowd that was stressed out," Hansen said TuesdayHansen said she was immediately concerned about Floyd because"he wasn't moving" and"his face looked puffy and swollen." She also noticed he was in an altered state, no longer responding to painful stimuli – the knee on his neck with body weight behind it.

He should. Instead of calling cops for fake $20 bill,.

Crime does not pay. A career repeat felon and illegal drug user like Floyd was due for an unhappy ending one day or another.

It's a Federal crime to pass a counterfeit bill. George knew that and he'd done it before. He should not have died because of his arrest but he engaged in criminal activity and that was the risk he took.

Can you or someone who sees this reply let me know what time the lunch recess ends? I got distracted at work and had to pull out my headphone and missed when they would be back. Is it 1 or 1:30 today?

The cashier who took decisive action to notify police about the counterfeit $20 bill had nothing to do with George Floyd's death. Floyd's death was a shared destiny between George Floyd's resistance and the policeman who didn't use a disciplined approach when he subdued him.

The bill was not confirmed as counterfeit. It may not have even been collected or analyzed. This is sloppy reporting.

Folks!! George Floyd died from a drug overdose! He made a choice to take the fentanyl and suffered the consequences. He was not murdered. Not saying Chauvin is innocent but he’s not guilty of murder

The cashier who took decisive action to notify police about the counterfeit $20 bill had nothing to do with George Floyd's death. Floyd's death was a shared destiny between George Floyd and the uniformed policeman who didn't use a disciplined approach when he subdued him.

Has it been confirmed that it really was counterfeit? Not that it excuses what was done to him in any way, but the media always refers to it yet I have heard NO official confirmation that it actually was counterfeit.

People who had to witness Chauvin murder George Floyd right in front of them now are suffering from PTSD. As if 400 years of oppression wasn’t enough.

He?

media keeps focusing on the emotions of the bystanders.... guess the prosecution doesn't have much of a case?
