Pathologists have five manners of death to choose from: Natural, accident, suicide, homicide and undetermined.Jerry Blackwell, who is prosecuting for the state of Minnesota, says that the jury will hear evidence that damage to George Floyd's heart was not responsible for his death - despite there being damage to one of his arteries.
In the disturbing footage, bystanders can be heard telling the police - including Derek Chauvin - to get off Mr Floyd.Witnesses can be heard saying"he is not responsive right now" and calling for officers to check the pulse of Mr Floyd.Then, Mr Floyd's limp body is seen being rolled on to a gurney before being taken away to an ambulance.Prosecutor Jerry Blackwell says his case will be supported largely by eyewitness evidence.
Mr Blackwell goes on to state that the incident was instigated by Mr Floyd's use of a counterfeit $20 note - but there is no evidence to suggest that Mr Floyd knew it was not real money.Mr Blackwell is laying out a timeline of events that happened on the day George Floyd died - including that Mr Floyd said"I can't breath" 27 times.
