Man committed to CMH following recent staff and garda stand-off

A previous sitting of the court heard the 38-year-old who is accused of producing a knife and a breach of the peace in January 2020 had been in prison on remand for 14 months pending a decision on his fitness to stand trial.

Following the adjournment of the earlier hearing the accused was brought by gardaí to the CMH but were refused entry by staff for a time before eventually gaining access to the premises.
