civil rights attorney who began representing Floyd’s family soon after his May death, sought to warn of the defense tactic during multiple news interviews Monday morning.
“They’re going to say that because he had a trace amount of drugs in his system that that’s what killed him and not what we saw in that video where he was tortured to death for 8 minutes and 46 seconds,” Crump said, arguing the murder case “is not hard”: “You just look at that torture video of George Floyd.”
Crump argued that the defense’s expected focus on the fentanyl found in Floyd’s system will be used as an attempt to “distract us from what we saw in that video.” due to “law enforcement subdual, restraint and neck compression.” “His cause of death was an overdose of excessive force,” Crump said. “Everything and anything that happens today is just going to be an attempt to assassinate his character now that they unjustly killed this Black man.
Define DRUG and find out who in the courtroom hasn't consumed any
After being tortured by the dutch government for 3 years, police force, mainstream media, the crypto mafia, various youtubers, and twitchers. The government is trying to down me with strong soul and body destroying medicine, clozapine. The corruption continues.
What character? There was none..
That's because his character was seriously lacking.
It is tough to assassinate something that didn't exist.
Didn’t he die of an overdose?
Duh.... My question is why don’t they drug test the cops after these situations?!
Watching the video of GeorgeFloyd last 9+ mins of life as it is been replayed in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the Police Officer who extinguished George's life! Only one verdict is possible when one observes the callousness of the act committed by Chauvin: he is guilty of murder
Video shows that the cop clearly used excessive force. George Floyd had a criminal record and was a drug user. Role of defense counsel is to paint a different picture of the cause of death. This is how justice works in America - innocent until proven guilty.
Character of a convicted felon with a violent criminal history!
Sadly it's true. George had his demons.
I hope the police officer will have the heaviest sentence possible - life without a parole would be good! He knew he was killing him and didn't stop. Other police officers just watched. Being a Police officer does not give the right to kill someone regardless of who they are.
If there are no medical records of drug use there’s a problem. Criminal record, or autopsy.
Not to split hairs, but didn't Mr. Floyd already do that himself over the course of his adult life? Does it excuse the officer's actions...no.
They they’ll try to attack his character, based on good evidence, while trying to destroy Chauvins character as a racist, based on nothing
His drug use in this instance is certainly pertinent. His behavior in this instance is pertinent.
of course they will, because there is no defense for being killed the way he was and they have to try and take the focus off of that. the prosecution should remind the jury that the trial is about the ex-cop only
Of course...when you murder someone in cold blood you have to try and convince the judge, jury and anyone else who saw the video that Mr. Floyd deserved it...do to the circumstances he may pull it off usual
Civil or criminal first thing. The depositions catch every bit of dirt and then they discredit you.
--Floyd died of overdose. --Police tried to help him first. --Knee on neck is their protocol. --He said he couldnt breathe before he was on ground. --Floyd asked to be put on ground, and asked for police not to leave him. Watch whole video. --Chauvin is innocent, and a hero.
We all say that cop kneel on that mans neck. Drugs don’t have shit to do with nothing. Anything in George Floyd’s past is irrelevant on account of him being killed on camera. Mr Floyd’s character has nothing to do with anything.
Shouldn't they focus then on his armed robbery on a pregnant woman on whose belly Floyd has put a gun?
Will there be a toxicology report ?
Lol
Which he had zero
if the shoe fits...
Well he was not a good man, that does not mean he deserved what happened to him, the officer was a complete prick. Lets not pretend George was a model citizen though because he wasn't.
