Canadian Michael Kovrig, accused by China of spying, faces trial

Beijing insists the detentions are not linked to the arrest of Meng, who remains under house arrest in Vancouver as she fights extradition to the United States. Canadian and other diplomats were not allowed to attend Spavor’s trial on what China said were national security grounds, a lack of transparency that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called “completely unacceptable.”

It's time for Trudeau ti pick up his duty to rescue Canadians in China. Words cannot help.

Trial in China is a joke. The HK12 were detained in China, and the decision had been made before tge trial started. 2 Michaels perhaps face even worse situation than them.

Canada has watched its citizens rot in Chinese jails as political hostages, while letting HUAWEI princess Meng Wanzhou go on curated shopping trips in Vancouver, living in a multi-million dollar on house arrest, for two years. Shameful.
