The lawyer maintained that one of the reasons the EFCC made him its primary target, was that he secured so many legal victories against it in various courts in the country.
Mr Ozekhome averred that it took the intervention of the Federal High Court in Lagos to unfreeze his bank account. He also asked the court for an order directing the respondents to jointly and severally pay the sum of N5 billion to him as damages for the violation of his rights.However, the EFCC, in a counter-affidavit deposed to by one of its operatives, Usman Aliyu, urged the court to dismiss the suit.
He held that though the court would always restrain itself from interfering with the functions of statutory bodies like the EFCC.
EFCC SHOULD BE CONVERTED TO A POLITICAL PARTY,THEY WANT TO PUT OZEKHOME DOWN BECAUSE HE CRITICIZE'S BUHARI GOVERNMENT.
No body is above the law.
Efcc has and is still a government tools in the hands of the ruling party use to clamp down undesireable elements...
In other words, Ozekhome is above the law in the eyes of this Judge!
