An Arkansas farmer could face the death penalty for the rape and murder of a 24-year-old jogger after running her down with his truck.

Quake Lewellyn — who has been charged over running Sydney Sutherland down with his truck before raping her and dumping her body — has been ruled competent to stand trial on capital murder, kidnapping and rape charges by a psychologist.

“He reported that he walked over to Sydney and asked if she was okay, but she did not respond and he believed she was dead,” the report said. He then said he went home, had dinner and went to sleep “and tried to forget about it”, before going to work “just like normal” the next day.Ms Sutherland with her long-term boyfriend, Alex, and his mother, Amy Lovins.
