Victims’ commissioner for England and Wales calls for ‘victims’ law’ to give them enforceable rights

Victims of crime in England and Wales are treated like “bystanders” in the criminal justice system and poorly served in comparison with other countries, according to a new report from the victims’ commissioner.

The criminal justice system should not be a vehicle for personal revenge. “Victim’s rights” is overwhelmingly the catch cry of right wing lock em up groups who are very keen on justice for victims of crime, unless, that is, they are victims of corporate crimes and bastardry.
