Texas tech mogul Robert T. Brockman has been charged in a US$2-billion tax evasion case, the largest ever tax charge in the United States, law enforcement officials said.

alleging that Brockman, the CEO of software company Reynolds & Reynolds, engaged in tax evasion, wire fraud, money laundering and other crimes as part of a nearly 20-year scheme to conceal around $2 billion in income from the Internal Revenue Service and defraud investors in his software firm's debt securities, federal authoritiesThe 39-count indictment — filed earlier this month in the Northern District of California and unsealed this week — reads at times like a screenplay:...

Brockman founded Universal Computer Systems, a computer systems and software provider for car dealerships, in 1970. In 2006, the company merged with Reynolds & Reynolds, of which Brockman is now CEO and chairman. Prior to Universal Computer Systems, he served in the US Marines, and worked for Ford and IBM.

A spokesperson for Reynolds & Reynolds said the allegations in the indictment focus on activities Brockman engaged in "outside of his professional responsibilities with Reynolds & Reynolds," according to a statement provided to CNN Business. "The company is not alleged to have engaged in any wrongdoing, and we are confident in the integrity and strength of our business.

If convicted, Brockman faces "a substantial period of incarceration," authorities said, as well as restitution and criminal forfeiture.

Ha

Better in his pocket than Pelosi and the Dems throwing it away in their fruitless Trump war.

Probably just the tip of a very big iceberg.

How about we focus on a floundering Canadian economy, rising consumer debt, Trudeau’s federal government corruption, rising unemployment and stagnant wages...let forget the race and equality crap and just get to work instead of whining and holding our hands out for free cash...

Doesn't surprise me, the whole system is corrupt. 🤬

Why is it these onerous people go to the end of the earth to avoid taxes which support the very political system that allows them to be successful in the first place? This guy needs serious jail time if only to underline to his cohorts that there will be serious accountability

What about Al Sharpton and Donald Trump? Both of those crooks need to pay up.

Christ....they let this dishonest Bastard go!!

Did I read that right? .. he could pay his way out of jail time? If so yes there are 2 systems of justice

But governments are worried about a few on welfare scamming a few hundred while ppl like this get away with taking billions

Someone has to be the fall guy

These old white dudes are the real looters.

And he's voting for trump ... I bet
