Day 1 of Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court confirmation hearings — live blog

Hearings for Amy Coney Barrett, President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, kick off in Washington on Monday, and MarketWatch will have a live blog of the proceedings at the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Monday begins a four-day process, and will feature opening statements. Two days of questioning will follow, and the final day will have testimony from outside witnesses. With about three weeks to go before the election, and Democrats objecting to Republicans’ plowing ahead with the hearings, look for partisanship to reach an “11” this week, one analyst said.

The Senators to Watch During Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court HearingsA half-dozen Senate Judiciary Committee members will play notable roles during the hearings for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett this week. I just nominated my garden gnome for a Nobel Peace Prize because apparently anyone can be nominated for any reason. hypocrites Doesn't she only have like 3 years of experience being a federal judge? Is it normal to appoint someone with so little practical experience to a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land? Or are handmaids not held to the same standards? They'll be playing covid recipient (D), or host (R)
