Fund manager says it will use voting power against those that fail to have at least one BAME board member by 2022

The UK’s biggest fund manager haswarned FTSE 100 companies with all-white boards that it will vote against those that fail to diversify their leadership teams by 2022.

Having quotas is a vote for mediocrity. We just need the bestperson for the job, irrespective of ethnicity and gender. Equality of opportunity, nothing more.

Tokenism again - are coloured such different human beings that they need to be guaranteed representation

Great news for all the non white directors who got their positions on merit but under this idea would be assumed to have got them based on racist tokenism. 🙄

I guess they have not heard of article 14 of the European Human Rights Act. This would be a a direct breach
