I was a graduate law student in the United States when the dastard and horrific event now called 9/11 happened. I cannot forget that day. Very early in the morning, I woke up to use the bathroom before preparing for classes. As I made for the bathroom, I passed through the common room. We leave the television on as we read and rest occasionally into the late night. A horrible sight flashed through the screen.
Throughout this period, the best of the United States came out. Mayor Juddy Guilian was fantastic. He mobilised a mourning city to start rebuilding and dreaming again; the faltering President George Bush Jnr sized up and led from the front. The neocons saw an opportunity and launched a scorching war against terror with the famous one liner: Axis of Evil.
