Republican Senator Mitt Romney said he would not oppose a vote on President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, solidifying the party's majority to move forward with the controversial pre-election process.

Republican Senator Mitt Romney said Tuesday, September 22, he would not oppose a vote on President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, solidifying the party's majority to move forward with the controversial pre-election process.

A statement from Romney, a fierce critic of Trump, on the issue was hotly awaited, after two moderate Republican senators said a vote on replacing the late liberal justice"I intend to follow the Constitution and precedent in considering the President's nominee. If the nominee reaches the Senate floor, I intend to vote based upon their qualifications," Romney said.
