Half the vulnerable women seeking legal assistance are getting turned away with services saying they need 123 more lawyers and a $25 million funding boost to cope.

The service had a 50 per cent increase compared to last year in calls to its statewide domestic violence helpline in May as Queensland came out of lockdown, and call levels were still 35 per cent higher in August. "This is a problem that was existing prior to the pandemic but is certainly exacerbated by the pandemic," she told the committee.

katinacurtis This is the domestic violence industry clamouring for more money to employ more feminists! These services employ mostly women! They want u to believe DV is at epidemic levels when it is not. Maybe we should end the institution of marriage. Men should just look after themselves.
