These conservative women judges are believed to be on Trump's Supreme Court short list.

While speculation swirls around whom President Trump will name as his third justice to the Supreme Court, political analysts have largely centered around two contenders: Amy Coney Barrett, an appeals judge in Indiana, and Barbara Lagoa, a federal appeals judge in Florida.

But as Trump has also said that he plans to pick a woman to replace Ginsburg, the second female justice ever named to the high court, a number of conservative female judges are topping the president’s rumored short list — although a male justice backed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could also be in the mix.

They’re mostly women. Analysts including Height Capital Markets have centered the potential picks around a group of conservative women, including Barrett and Lagoa, as well as White House Deputy Counsel Kate Todd, and North Carolina federal judge Allison Jones Rushing. The top two contenders appear to be Barrett, who worked as a law professor at the University of Notre Dame for almost two decades before serving on the seventh Circuit in Indiana, and Lagoa, a Miami native and Columbia Law School grad who worked as a pro bono lawyer for Elian Gonzalez’s family in the 2000 international custody battle over the then 5-year-old Cuban boy found floating off the Florida coast.

Trump says Amy Coney Barrett, Barbara Lagoa among potential nominees for Supreme CourtSpeaking to reporters before his North Carolina rally, Trump named two judges to potentially replace the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg—both of them women. Is the hint that he's miming grabbing her by the boobies? Ooh one he HASN’T been accused of assaulting? That’s a small pool. Mother nature searches for justice across the 7 seas but now sees a voice in Thunberg instead of Ginsburg. Greta let your message radiate! The planet is dying. Like Ruth, we must jabot down the skeptic's throat before Mother nature says, 'See you later alligator,' just like Bader

Trump weighs Barrett, Lagoa for Court seatThe president’s aides prepared for months for a potential election-year Supreme Court replacement. Now they’re also weighing other election considerations. Just dug up this clip of Obama in 2016: 'When there is a vacancy on the SCOTUS, the President is to nominate someone, the Senate is to consider that nomination... There's no unwritten law that says that it can only be done on off-years. That's not in the Constitution text.' Democrats should be already thinking about every senate procedure, every rule, every loophole to block this nomination, they´ll get the support of the whole country... but Schumer, Schiff etc. fighting fiercely? C´mon... Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg just passed. For many Americans, the death was so troubling that “No. No. No.” trended on Twitter But for Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), the death was apparently an opportunity to raise campaign cash, according to Iowa Starting Line Vote Theresa Greenfield
