Note that Murkowski did not indicate what action she would take 'after' the election and before inauguration. Nor did she use Collin's language saying that the 'newly-elected president' should make the nomination.
President Trump will fill the vacant seat. There is nothing the Dems can do to stop it. It can be done after Nov.3 by vote regardless of the winner or it can be done by Mitch putting the Senate in recess and Trump making a recess appointment good for 2 years.

No one is surprised with lisamurkowski’s decision. We know who she is, but the American people want the duly elected president to put forth his candidate and the senate to approve. This is the desire of the people who elected those officials.
