WASHINGTON—The U.S. Supreme Court vacancy created by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has made an already-difficult re-election bid for Republican Sen. Susan Collins even more perilous.
Ms. Collins’s bid for a fifth term in Maine has long carried an element of doubt, her chances complicated by a vote she cast two years ago to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. That choice hurt her standing with independent and women voters, polls showed. Her decision to oppose a pre-election vote on President Trump’s next...
She’s a RINO and terrible Senator.
It’s her own fault for not listening to her constituents
Why join a political party if you’re just going to sabotage vote after vote.
What about senatemajldr McConnell? Seem like he's facing several difficult political moments.
'Ask not what your Country can do for you but what you can do for your Country' 'We choose to go to the moon, not because it's easy but because it's hard' Our elected political leaders took an oath to put America and Americans above the individual. SenatorCollins
I can only hope she stands with the President. No time to back down.
She is looking rather beat-up and haggard. Time to hang it up. SenatorCollins
That's one handsome woman.
RINO
VOTE FOR: DONALD TRUMP!!
She snd Arizona GOP senator McSally
Vote present.
She deserves to lose.
Any new justice that accepts the nomination right now is just as suspect as Trump and McConnell. Not trustworthy. They serve party, not country.
If SenatorCollins & realDonaldTrump joins forces, Sen Susan has easy path to re-election. Trump did lot for Maine like Lobster/Fisheries industry, reclaiming 5000 Square miles and so forth. Trump crowds are massive and has 86,1 million Twitter followers. MarkMeadows VP
I have a question that I really need an answer to. She said it should not happen until after the vote. Does this mean that she would OK and elect somebody to the Supreme Court after the election but before the next inauguration?
So dont do whats right and moral! Do whats right for you to keep your job? Thank goodness white racist republican leaders will be gone soon
This is the dilemma when you try to play politics instead of standing for what you believe. Collins should unapologetically do what she truly believes and be judged for that, and not play political games that she thinks will work in her favor.
We will have time to feel sorry for her after we kicked her out from the Senate! Join us! Chip in! $19,000,000 and counting! On you!
SenatorCollins This occurred on your current term. You were elected to do a job through 2020, as was realDonaldTrump . Don't be punting it into the next congress. Did you get a paycheck? DO YOUR JOB.
She needs to be gone girl
Didn’t she promise to only serve two terms?
Good riddance.
And Collins just blew it with her statement. In one stupid act she managed to enrage and alienate her republican & independent supporters to the clear advantage of her democrat challenger. Beyond stupid. I hate to say it but Collins is toast.
Be Bold and Decisive. Don’t sit on the fence and play both sides. Hasn’t she seen The Karate Kid?
RBG believed an election year didn’t stop a president from choosing a justice! If that rule applied to Obama then why not also to Trump?
toast
She is set for life with health benefits & pensions
Not surprised
IF ME re-elects, it's on them
She is so weak. What are her qualifications?
Because she has......no spine?
Sometimes it's not about you ! Do your job !
Supreme Court Of The United Stares On March 16, 2016, President Barack Obama nominated Merrick Garland for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States to succeed Antonin Scalia, who had died one month earlier.
Well then she deserves to lose if she squanders this opportunity for power . No conservative will vote for her anyway
She needs to go
