The prospect of a Supreme Court fight adds another variable into an already tumultuous presidential election.

Is this what Justice Ginsburg would have wanted? U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg at the Georgetown University Law Center on February 10, 2020 in Washington, DC, to discuss the 19th Amendment which guaranteed women the right to vote, passed 100 years ago. When President Donald Trump took the stage at a campaign rally in Bemidji, Minnesota, on Friday night, aides say, he was unaware that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had died.

But there's more to the political calculus than that. Trump has struggled unsuccessfully to change the national conversation to anything other than the government's botched response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Both Joe Biden and much of the mainstream media hammer him every day on the issueto significant effect: even while rarely venturing out to campaign, Biden has maintained a steady lead in national polls, and, more importantly, in key battleground states.

For the Majority leader, filling the Ginsburg seat is trickier. Republicans have 53 seats in the Senate, just a three-seat majority, and are defending 23 seats in November, compared to just 12 for the Democrats. According to an official working on Senate races in the Republican National Committee, the GOP's three-seat majority is in trouble. Republican incumbents in Arizona, Colorado and Maine all trail in their races, and a seat in North Carolina is worrisome, the source says.

Newsweek is always churning out trash. Trumps peo were already galvanized. I'm not sure why anyone would change their vote to Trump because RBG passed.

No. You are incorrect.

How in the fuck is her death helping frump? Oh I get it, everything has to help frump.. including shitty has been 'magazines'.

Or possibly in Biden's favor I know one thing you fucking definitely don't know

If you have an article in your upcoming print article highlighting Lindsey Graham’s complete 180, you should send about 1000 copies to his senate office.

Yeah, like now everyone is saying “Ginsburg is dead, I’m definitely voting for Trump.”

No, everyone is sick of racist Trump.

If you honestly discount how galvanizing this is for the Democrats as well, you're a bad journalist. ActBlue broke all-time records at 9pm and again at 10pm. Democrats are rightfully outraged and motivated.

Newsweek sucks.

To allow Trump, a man wanted for investigation, to pick another supreme court justice, ensures this part of our history as AmericaTheStupid

Trump will get 3 picks his first term - how cool is that?

Violent protests have broken out in New York City following RBG's death.

Analysis: Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death reshapes the 2020 campaignWith 45 days before the election, the battle over who will replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court is already reshaping the debate in the presidential race and more than a half-dozen closely-fought Senate races, with the potential to turn out impassioned voters on both sides. MaeveReston Rephrase this to, 'As Decent Americans not aligned with Donald Trump or the Death Cult of Christianity and phony 'conservatism' mourned the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.....' MaeveReston How many remember the names of the last three Justices that were replaced by retirement or death? This one will fare the same. MaeveReston I am pointing fingers at the voters that didn't vote for Clinton or didn't vote at all, this mess is on you. The excuse that I'm mad because my person didn't get nominated, Clinton is going to win anyway or I'm too busy is lame. Don't let it happen again. WearAMaskGoOutAndVote

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Shared Her 'Fervent' Last Wish Before Her Death'My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.' Not gonna happen 😂😂😂 I don't believe she was more worried about than facing God. She spent her career in the Senate having her wishes overrule the Constitution, but this is one time it's not going to happen. The Constitution gives the president the right to name a replacement for a vacant Supreme Court seat at a time of his choosing, and Trump chooses now.
