Solons downplay belated signing of Bayanihan 2

Ranking House of Representatives members don’t think President Duterte’s belated signing of the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act or Bayanihan 2 was in any way detrimental to the law and what it seeks to achieve.

“I don’t think the late signing is a big deal or detrimental since it was only a few weeks since the bill was enrolled. The President made sure that everything was in order,” said the congressman who also acts as spokesman of ruling party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan . “It is inconsequential that the enrolled bill wasn’t immediately signed by the President,” insisted Kabayan party-list Rep. Ron Salo, who heads the House contingent to the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal .
