Holkenborg worked on the original “Justice League,” but was replaced by Danny Elfman when director Joss Whedon took over the film. The Snyder Cut is billed as Zack Snyder’s original vision for the superhero film, which received mostly negative reviews in 2017 after Snyder had to step down due to a family tragedy. Since its release, fans called on Warner Bros.
Snyder and Holkenborg previously worked together on the “Justice League” precursor “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” with Hans Zimmer co-composing the score. Zimmer, who had composed “Wonder Woman,” had originally been tapped to score “Justice League,” but Holkenborg replaced him, before ultimately being swapped with Elfman in the final version.

Can’t believe we have come to the point where people are comparing the great dannyelfman to Junkie XL and say that the former’s score was “bland” and “terrible” and the latter’s theme is “more developed”... Oh dear god... 🤦🏻♂️
Elfman is a great composer but that score was so bland. Maybe because of the time shortage or maybe he was just uninspired. Oh well, point is this short peek sounds better imo. More developed and more like its coming from an enthusiastic place rather than a late hire.

It’s sounds epic. It doesn’t feel like an Avengers / Hulk / Spider-Man mix. It feels like something of it’s own. And I totally love it. Justice League deserves an actual theme and this sounds perfect. Great job over there Junkie_XL you don’t know how long I’ve been waiting.
