Liberal MP Dr Katie Allen has told Sky News, the event which triggered the temporary suspension of the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine trial may be “completely unrelated” to the vaccine itself. Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has suspended its COVID-19 vaccine trial after a participant suffered an adverse reaction, casting doubts on whether the vaccine would be ready by early next year. Dr Allen said it is very encouraging Oxford and AstraZeneca are being cautious as “safety comes first”.

KatieAllenMP MAYBE what a word

KatieAllenMP well, yeah - but that's true. That's why it's suspended not terminated. They suspend trials if there is an adverse event, suss it out and move on if the event is likely not related to the experimental treatment. This is normal. It's also got stuff all to do with Morisson

KatieAllenMP How good's an announcement! What an absolute failure this government is. Scomo will be remembered for 2 things; 1 Ruining his pants in Engadine 2 Ruining Australia
