Professional Football League released by the League Management Company, and has headed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to seek justice.
The NFF on Monday ratified the league table earlier published by the LMC placing 2018/19 champions, Enyimba, in second place, thereby relegating hitherto second-place Rivers United to third, a position which will see the Port Harcourt-based club compete in the CAF Confederation Cup, after embarking on preparations for the more prestigious CAF Champions League in the incoming season.
“This is a clear case of injustice and undue victimisation,” Iyaye said. “In light of this development, the Rivers State Government; sponsors of Rivers United FC, is compelled to seek the proper interpretation of the applicable rules, and a pronouncement on the propriety or otherwise of the actions and decisions of the LMC on the matter, from the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
