JOHANNESBURG - On the same day Cricket South Africa fired its chief executive Thabang Moroe, Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa said he wants to see the forensic report detailing Moroe and possibly other CSA officials’ misconduct before the organisation’s Annual General Meeting next Saturday.
“It was done in absentia,” said Motsoeneng Bill. He said Moroe would head to court to fight his dismissal. The forensic audit report has become an albatross around CSA’s necks since Moroe was suspended on December 6 last year. “We expect that by Monday they will respond to substantive issues that the Minister has raised with them. Their response will determine the course of action that he will take. We are ready to avail ourselves to their AGM but this is all dependent on how they respond to the fundamental issues that the has Minister raised with them, such as allegations of malpractice, systemic racism, issues of corporate governance, et al.
