Community members reportedly tried to stop the city’s Human Settlements Department from destroying a local house.Clarence Solomons had just returned from school and was hit by a stray bullet. He died on the scene.His family has forgiven the community of The Range for the violence that led to Solomons’ death after residents came to pay their condolences.
The Range community leader Patrick Wence said,"law enforcement with the authority of the council decided to demolish the house and then there was a whole commotion between community and law enforcement."The police started shooting and then, unfortunately, gangsters got involved and there was cross shooting between police and gangsters."while responding to violent protests around Cape Town in the past month.
