Top Democrats and Republicans blamed each other for stalled talks on coronavirus aid legislation on Sunday, a day after the House of Representatives approved $25 billion in new funds for the U.S. Postal Service, a bill that Republicans declared dead.

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on Sunday criticized the Democratic vote as “a largely messaging bill” and blamed Pelosi for failing to agree on broader legislation that included supplemental unemployment benefits. He had, however, reached out to Pelosi’s office on Saturday. Pelosi shot back on CNN’s “State of the Union”, saying that the postal bill addressed “an emergency immediately and it’s something that should be bipartisan.”She also said Trump was stalling needed coronavirus relief for cities and children for political gain, signaling that negotiations were likely to make little progress during the Republican National Convention, which gets underway this week.

Your headline is alarmingly misleading. The legislation is sitting on McConnell's desk and he won't allow a vote so THAT is where the legislation is stalled. There should be no confusion about who should be blamed--Repubs are sitting on legislation.

So the Democrats are putting in more money in. I'm sure that's an unqualified good. After all, money is made from paper, and paper DOES grow on trees.

They sure are tight with our money

MoscowMitch is the reason why

Yup but remember the Speaker of the house has the role to bring people together and has done nothing less than lay blame to those around her. Leadership is about taking responsibility. So I guess not a good leader - no different than Trump.

Interesting. The score card is based on money. Tax dollars.

Going to have to 'multi-task' on this one. You need to get the relief money out pronto, but you also have to fix the Post Office so that the entire nation can vote by mail...if they so choose.

The media can continue to twist facts all they wish. The light of day is shining on Democrats and exposing them for the despicable party they are. It’s quite hard to say America first and at the same time defund police and support domestic terrorism. They are exposed.

WalkAwayFromDemocrats

Yes and the blame lies at the feet of MoscowMitch and GOP for trying to push more welfare programs for the rich instead of helping working Americans.

MSM coverage leads to her in every major legislation conflict for the past 4 years.

Let's see....one party passed legislation in May, the other refused to talk about it until benefits ran out for America's poor, then decided the stock market is high enough now that poor people really don't need to live afterall...

All the snowflakes and liberal Democrats believe all the lies Pelosi will tell them. The truth is Democrats are holding up the unemployment checks because they don't want President Trump to get the credit. President Trump wants the relief sent, NOW.

Dems... always were wrong, always will be. Except now, everyone sees them for who they are.

congress the opposite of progress

Spoiler - it’s both their fault.

Note that the table doesn't account for the $3T+ corrupt Democrats want to spend paying illegals, bailing out corrupt Democrat leadership, and helping the marijuana business of evil hag SpeakerPelosi's son.

Democrats also think money grows in trees...

Damn

Democrats want to give $3.5 trillion dollars in coronavirus aid; Republicans do not want to give more than 1 trillion dollars and won't budge.

Pelosi knowingly over-asked believing Trump will get blamed for a failure, and McConnell does not mind the bill’s failure because he wants to hand the Dems an economic mess if the GOP loses. Both sides are selfish/awful on this one.

McConnell won't have an up or down vote on a piece of House legislation that passed two months, preventing it from going to committee, you know you can make an actual assessment of blame on legislative stoppage.

no. 1 party is to blame for it all. stop using 'objectivity' to erase reality.

Why blame either party? The government is showing its power of controlling you! We allowed the central bank as means to give handouts to certain segmental of society and stealing money by other segment of society. Appreciate the helplessness of public when government is almighty!

Ummmm....Let’s be clear, it is the GOP’s fault for this garbage and their fault for allowing Trump to stay in office. They have no voice. They are the most corrupt party in history.

Someone was fixated on the USPS. Priorities?

Stop spending money. No one should get anything. NOTHING! realDonaldTrump

Democrats want to give $3.5 billion dollars in coronavirus aid; Republicans do not want to give more than 1 trillion dollars and won't budge.

GOP Proposal looks good. Don't need to drop 3 more trillion dollars. More $ can be discussed later, if necessary. Citizens need to get back to work.

One America. If politicians can meet on a saturday to provide extra tax payer funds for an ALREADY FUNDED Post Office... What is stoping politicians from doing the same thing for millions of workers told to stay home? Exactly. Revolution2020

Wow, a both-side-isms, normalizing headline and story. Your fake objective-ness is harmful and further degrades your profession.

The Dem House passed a bill in May. What has the GOP Senate passed? Nothing. They’ve voted on nothing because they can’t agree.

“People blame both parties for stalls in Coronavirus aid legislation” GeneralStrike2020 ClassWarfare

pretty clear which party has the real interests of Americans at heart

They’re all the same

This headline is not reporting. The Dems passed a bill THREE months ago and Republicans refused to do anything until the last min. On top of that, MoscowMitch doesn’t even have the votes to pass the measly measures he wanted! 🤬

Dems are great for spending and adding debt.

Republicans don't care. Period.

Where will the damn money come from? WHERE ?

My plan is to vote early as possible and then go to the polling stations in areas where there are minorities and start filming since trump is going to have sheriff and police there...any voter suppression will be on video. THIS IDEA NEEDS TO BE SHARED PLEASE RETWEET ✌❤
