California professor Dr Christine Blasey Ford and president Trump’s nominee for the US Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, have both testified in front of the US Senate. The hearing saw Dr Ford recount her allegations that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a high school party in 1982, with Kavanaugh strongly denying the allegations. Following the hearing, which saw both Ford and Kavanaugh appear emotional as they recalled their versions of events, senators debated whether they will vote to confirm Kavanaugh to the highest court in the US.

Shame on you SenatorFlake , no vote before an investigation!

But irrelevant to the confirmation process.

Wow. Whatever happened to letting the law take its course? Everyone is guilty as soon as they are accused these days! Why confront him? He is backing an innocent man at present. Confront him if that fact changes...

Powerful or grandstanding? When ample evidence is there to convict someone, then convict them ...that isn't what is going on here

JeffFlake - Shame on you.

Sexual assault survivor confronts pro-Kavanaugh Republican senator: 'You're telling all women in America they don't matter'California professor Dr Christine Blasey Ford and president Trump’s nominee for the US Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, have both testified in front of the US Senate. This is the problem. Things get hysterical. Reason and justice go out the window leaving everyone at risk of being wrongly accused. In short, a Salem witch hunt. As a woman in America, that is a bunch of BS. Dr Ford had : * No witnesses * No specifics * No corroborating evidence The Democrats intention all along was to delay the confirmation until after the midterms, using sexual assault as a mere political weapon. Their heinous actions have done great harm to assault victims.

Kavanaugh v Ford: the parading of sexual assault victims has to end | Catherine BennettThe Senate hearing resembled nothing so much as a 17th-century rape trial. Let’s hope the grotesque spectacle enhances justice The victim MUST always have a say whether they want to come forward or remain anonymous. Sometimes, a public appearan like that of Dr Ford is more impactful than the anonymous reports, of underage victims.Public appearances of victims encourage public opprobrium against offenders She should not have accused someone of rape which happened 30 years ago. Times were different and teenagers behaviour was just that. Now she has destroyed the lives of the whole family and the childrens. Thats not brave but selfish. Its all about her
